After hiking the uninhibited hermit crab infested trail on Sandy Cay Island, we made our way to Jost Van Dyke to hangout at the famous Soggy Dollar Bar. This is where the famous Pain Killer drink originated from the 70’s. It is now a staple drink in all the Caribbean!
I have to say out of all the beaches we explored, this one is my favorite! The water is incredibly blue, calm and soft white sandy beach!
They were not kidding about “Soggy Dollar,” lol! We all jumped in treading water all the way to the beach! Ron was a doll and kept my coverup dry!
Swimming to shore we saw a few stingray. I didn’t get to go up to any but since the water was so clear you can see them everywhere!I laid in the sand while they enjoyed the chairs sipping some famous painkillers! Which do you prefer?!
I watched tons of brown bobbies dive into the water. I’ve never seen anything like it! You can see one to the right shooting straight into the water! I am not 100% sure on the breed of the bird but heres a list here to check out. They are not afraid to dive in right next to you either. I was entertained by these guys for ever!We all enjoyed some drinks and conk fritters! Soggy Dollar ceiling is filled with t-shirts and badges from all over the country. My friend Erica gave them her Spartan t-shirt to hang so if you see it let me know! We worked our way down the beach and played some corn hole! Gosh, I could never get tired of that view!
This day was perfect since we got to snorkel, take a hike and discover 100’s of hermit crabs, relax on the most beautiful beach with some great friends… life can’t get much better then that!
